I bought this dress because the color and shape totally spoke to me. I am a sassy 55 year old woman with a true hourglass shape (although that 6 p.m. area seems to have more sand lately), sleeve tattoo, 36DD chest and a strong Taurean attitude. This dress was made for every inch of ME as a whole.
The material is SNUG with more "pull you in" than "stretch gently with your shape" under material. I sized up for this reason because I could even see on the thin model that it "cut into" her shape, which will make any woman feel like it is a fat roll that truly isn't there. I want to feel "snatched", but in the right ways. So, sizing up allowed me to do that. I ordered the size 12 and it is tight to get into, but zippered with ease and holds EVERYTHING in place without cutting in or giving me weird lines in my shape. The tight under material goes mid-thigh, so you won't get the deviation line that some others leave.
This material is soft, a STUNNING red with gorgeous sheen to it. The movement of the sash around the neck and the material at the bottom adds interest when you move and catches every eye in the place! This dress made my husband light up when he saw it on me and THAT is the best review I can get...or give. : )
